Just sent in my submission for the Contemporary Verse 2 Two-Day Poem Contest thing.

I wrote about an apiary. There's trouble with them bees of late. I'd like to eat food grown in my own backyard, not China's. We need to save the bees.

hey!

this comment is actually for the post about the CV2 poetry contest. i did that too! hmm. would love to swap submissions. i was crazy busy the entire time the contest was going on (hosting a bunch of crazy boys from montreal who were here in maine for a three-day event called franco-american rendezvous), and wasn't too too happy about the resulting product, but c'est la.

Very cool, Michelle. Nice photo. Very poet-y.
Think I'll wait til they post the finalists/winners before I surface this poem. Was busy myself, so likely won't win either. But I really had fun writing it. In fact, I may pick random words and do it myself!
I love Maine. Used to go to Bangor with my grandparents when I was a kid; just across the border from N.B. where I'm from.

oh, didn't mean posting it in public or anything... was just interested in seeing how someone else used the words given.

i'm doing the same thing down here. i'm randomly picking words (well, maybe not that randomly) and i'm starting a list to use for a poem. i really liked the process and if nothing else, i'm extra-curious to see how others managed the same list.

yes, this is my artsy-fartsy photo, haha.

i'm a couple hours south of bangor, but used to go there a lot as a kid too (my brother seemed to have endless hockey tournaments there). i love maine and am glad it's my home. i'm on my way to montreal in june for the jazz festival.
